ADA fell to about $0.232 with Bitcoin flat, and whales sold more than 110 million ADA in five days

Tuesday on Cardano was not about Bitcoin. Around 14:20 Central European time, CoinMarketCap had ADA at $0.232009 and CoinGecko at $0.232011. Both sources give a drop of about 7.5 percent over 24 hours. The working figure is $0.2320. Market value did not match: CoinMarketCap has $8.54 billion, CoinGecko $8.71 billion. Those are two calculations, not two ADAs.
Bitcoin in the same hour is near $83,080, about 0.1 to 0.2 percent lower on the day. ADA stands at roughly 279 satoshis against it. Yesterday that was closer to 301. The drop of about 7 percent in the pair comes from ADA, not from Bitcoin.
Whales and daily activity
crypto.news today, citing Ali Martinez and Santiment, writes that whales sold more than 110 million ADA in five days. The same story records a drop in daily active addresses from 27,248 to 15,977, about 41 percent. Part of that figure may be a normalisation after epoch 660, which closed at 1,780,896 transactions. Cardanians held that epoch as a record yesterday. The $0.24 and $0.21 levels mentioned in the same pieces remain someone else's chart reading, not an exchange fact.
The “JUST IN” post that DZ Bank is adding ADA is not new. DZ Bank has had ADA in meinKrypto since 12 January 2026, with MiCA approval. Availability still depends on the individual bank. Today's headline is not a new listing.
Epoch 661 and locked value
Koios puts the chain tip at height 14,062,833. Epoch 661 is about 32 percent complete and closes on Friday, 16 October, at 23:44:51. By 14:20 it had 138,095 transactions in 6,771 blocks, with fees of 31,376 ADA. AdaStat in the same hour has 138,160 transactions and 2,885 pools. Stake disagrees: AdaStat 21.46 billion ADA, Koios 21.26 billion. The treasury stands at 1,378,258,310 ADA. There is no withdrawal in this epoch. There are 857 DReps, with about 15.92 billion ADA of voting power.
DeFiLlama, on the newer methodology, gives $65.17 million, about 5.4 percent lower on the day. The series runs $68.08 million on 11 October, $68.55 million on 12 October, $65.17 million today. Among protocols, Minswap is about $17.1 million, the Coinbase bridge about $13.5 million, Liqwid about $12.2 million, FluidTokens about $3.2 million.
