Leios rc-2026w43 is out, certification runs in milliseconds, and the 11.2 tag is still missing

Daily on Cardano
At 12:31 Central European time today IOG published Leios rc-2026w43 and called it a small consensus-only release. Block producers now forge certifying blocks in milliseconds. Before, that took up to 0.9 seconds. The release asks for a resync. Because of a new LeiosDb layout, the chain DB, leios.vol.db, and leios.imm.db are deleted. Wire formats stay the same. Leios, or Linear Leios, means consensus throughput. The GitHub tag is rc-2026w43.

What is on main, and what is still out
Three requests entered consensus. #2449, the Leios prototype, merged on 25 October at 23:51. #2451 merged today at 10:39. #2448, ouroboros-network 2.0, merged today at 12:07. In the ledger, #6219 merged on 25 October at 17:58, an Annotator decoder for EbReferences. At 11:50 CryptoSlate writes that Praos2, LeiosNotify, and LeiosFetch are on main, and that endorser-block selection and fetch are still missing. The same piece draws the path as 3 to 5 times, then 10 to 15 times, from a Praos ceiling of about 4.5 kB/s. BLS keys, on that piece and on Weekly #134, need to be registered for about 90 to 95 percent of stake. There is no mainnet date. CAP-12 is in a fourth draft. Still open are parameter limits, pledge leverage, and the procedure for switching Leios off. CAP-12 requires DReps of at least 75 percent and a constitutional committee at 2/3. A hard fork requires DReps at 60 percent, SPOs at 51 percent, and the constitutional committee at 2/3. That is CryptoSlate's account.
At 06:52 @BBHMM_Stake writes that the pool will register right after the fork and that delegators should ask their pool, because Leios voting works only if pools show up. That is an operator's intention. At 14:00 @Altcoinbuzzio writes that every step up needs a governance vote. At 09:36 @IOHK_Charles writes that everything works on Cardano as of today, alongside a groth16 verifier. At 11:37 @niroshan682 writes that the Dijkstra testnet is live and the hard fork has not happened. That matches Weekly #134. A post that mentions a December plan and fallback windows stays unverified. Primary sources confirm only the fourth quarter of 2026.
Node 11.2 and Dijkstra
At 14:19 there is no 11.2 tag. The latest release is 11.1.3 from 29 September. There are no 12.x refs. Open are #6732, #6677 with the bump to 11.2, #6709, #6738, and #6745. The last commit on master is #6743 from 24 October. Without 11.2 there is no action for a hard fork toward protocol 12. That is Weekly #134. The "this week" deadline from the 20 October hard-fork working group is on its sixth day of a miss. In those minutes, 11.2 carries the full Dijkstra scope except Leios, with an LSM of about 12 GB. Version 11.3 was then at least two weeks away. The page for the 27 October meeting says it is to be added. The meeting is tomorrow at 15:30.
The public Dijkstra testnet is still on protocol 11, with node 11.1.3, after the 21 October respin. The DijkstraNet portal does not respond. A hard fork to protocol 12 is not confirmed as of 26 October 2026. Dijkstra is the next ledger era. Phase 1 is era v12 with Linear Leios, Nested Tx, and Peras codec extensions, aimed at the fourth quarter of 2026. Nested Tx means batching in the ledger. Phase 2 is a Peras activation by an intra-era hard fork, aimed at the second quarter of 2027. Musashi is live, in the Fire phase, open for testing. That is a test network, and a Leios mainnet has its own path. Weekly #135 was unpublished through 14:20. #134 of 24 October remains the latest. The poll on k, from 500 to 1000, has no new reading since 24 October. Weekly gives 4.77 percent of DReps and 2.06 percent of SPOs. Koios gives 7.78 and 2.2 percent. The two sources hold two totals.
Dingo v0.88.1 came out on 25 October at 17:23. It fixes chainsync and the UTxO overlay. It is not a cardano-node release. Dugite's conformance-corpus-v20261025 is a test corpus. SongMarketCap today published a piece on the first SweepTreasury and the return of 115,172 ADA. The return itself was yesterday's desk. @Cashmat02 shared that piece at 13:12. Daedalus 11.6.0, on SongMarketCap's page of 25 October, detects damage from a partial Mithril sync in versions before 11.5.0 and offers Rebuild blockchain data. Wallet data stays. The DRep DAO platform remains as described yesterday. PRIME has started its first RFPs through it. Outcomes are not independently confirmed. At 09:06 @Cardanians_io repeats that PRIME named the first nine teams. No new names came out today.
Votes, the ecosystem, and the calendar
Koios at 14:20, epoch 663, threshold 67 percent. Copper, 22 million ADA, is at 0.33 percent of DRep votes in favor, 0.21 yesterday, with 3 yes and 62 no. The constitutional committee is 0-2-0. Expiry is epoch 668, 15 November. AURORA, 940,000 ADA, is at 1.60 percent, 1.27 yesterday, with 10 yes and 28 no. The constitutional committee is 0-2-0. Expiry is 20 November. PFMS, 9.6 million ADA, is at 4.62 percent, 4.51 yesterday, with 16 yes and 8 no. The constitutional committee is 1-0-0. Expiry is 20 November. There are no new actions. Weekly #134, with figures from 22 October at 20:20, gives 0.25, 0.38, and 2.93 percent. The gap is the date of the snapshot. Pending withdrawals are 32.54 million ADA, and no action is above 5 percent. A figure for a USDCx withdrawal is not available. A French guide for the governance week of 26 to 30 October has been on the Cardano forum since 08:01. That is a guide for the week, and it is not a new action.
NuNet opened a portal to check NTX balances after the 19 September incident, when 408,532,878 NTX were minted on Ethereum. The review runs until 3 November. The Cardano native policy was not vulnerable in that incident. WingRiders added the Open Wallet Standard and Blockfrost support. @wingriderscom thanked SongMarketCap today at 14:08. The body of that piece and the publication date were not read, so only that scope is here. Unchanged are cardano-cli 11.5.0.0, Hydra 2.4.2, Mithril 2642.0, Dolos v1.6.2, and Lace 2.4.3, plus Fluid, Orion, IBC, and Reeve. Still quiet are the 11.2 tag, Weekly #135, the recording of the 23 October guardrails call, the Members Area, hydra-updates w43 and w44, and the DijkstraNet portal. Leios rc-2026w43 breaks that quiet.
Calendar, Central European time. Tonight at 22:44:51 epoch 664 begins. Tomorrow: the hard-fork working group at 15:30, CIP Editors at 17:00, Governance Hour #12 on Copper at 17:30. On Wednesday a DRep call at 16:00, and the Fed decides. On Thursday a members' meeting at 12:00, CIP-113 at 15:00, CAP Review at 16:00, the estimated Bitcoin difficulty adjustment around 19:12, and the ECB. On Friday Dev Office Hours #85 at 16:00 and the BOJ. Epoch 665 closes on 31 October. Daylight saving time ends in the United States on 1 November. The Node Diversity invitation deadline and epoch 666 fall on 5 November. The poll closes on 6 November. London is 12 and 13 November. Copper expires on 15 November.
