Stolen funds move into Zcash; Bangkok arrest and the Warsaw protocol

Cardano Daily
The day away from Cardano and Bitcoin was about on-chain privacy, money laundering and international cooperation. The loudest on-chain line points to Zcash.
Zcash, Bangkok, Warsaw
Kriptoteme and crypto.news on 18 October write that stolen funds are moving into Zcash after several attacks. Specter links three separate cases (Bitget, Cryptobills Ledger, Triple-A), not necessarily the same attacker. ZachXBT ties ~18,900 ZEC (~$28.3 million) to Bitget, whose 24 September loss was revised to ~$387.5 million. This is use of privacy, not an Ironwood flaw (activated 28 July).
Thai police arrested a 37-year-old Chinese national in Bangkok wanted by China. The network moved more than 500 million yuan (~$75 million) through 133 accounts, crypto and exchanges. Charges have not yet gone to court.
The EU, UK, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Luxembourg, Monaco, Montenegro and San Marino signed the Warsaw protocol on crypto crime on 14 October. FIUs can stop transactions and freeze funds quickly. Croatia is not among the first signatories.

Russia, Cysic, the rest
Russia bans P2P crypto transfers from 1 July 2027: transfers between residents via self-custody and from brokers to self-custody must go through 13 licensed exchanges (VTB, Sberbank). Cysic halted its bridge after an unauthorized mint of 10 million CYS on BNB Smart Chain. Ethereum: Glamsterdam on Hoodi on 26 Oct, targeting 200 million gas per block; mainnet date unset. Ripple × DriveWealth: RLUSD settlement on XRPL, Europe first.
